A Look At A CIA Officer Who Gave His Life For His Country
The veil of secrecy surrounding the dead CIA officer Darren James LaBonte has finally been lifted. LaBonte's family had promised him they would never talk about his work so they mourned in private after his death in the suicide bombing at a U.S. base in Afghanistan in late December.
Even now, LaBonte's parents, David and Camille, are not willing to talk the dangerous work he did for the CIA. "We made that promise to him," said David to AFP. But his family finally gave in and decided to talk about their dead son on Memorial Day to acknowledge that he was among the bombing victims.
