As a seven-year-old boy is hanged in Afghanistan, Ben Farmer hears how in certain areas the Taliban's shadow administration remains more influential than the government in Kabul.
Del Awar, aged seven, was taken at sunset and found hanging in an orchard at sunrise the following day.
Bruises and scratches around the young boy's neck suggested his murder had been neither quick, nor easy, according to those who saw his slight body after it was cut down.

My Comment: If the Taliban should ever succeed in taking over Afghanistan, the retribution and revenge killings that will occur will run into the tens of thousands, and the refugee crisis that will result will number in the hundreds of thousands if not more. Afghanistan itself will certainly fall back into a 7th century type of society, with dire living conditions for all.
But even with this awareness .... everyone now knows that the U.S. and its Nato allies are leaving the country soon .... and no one knows it better than the taliban.
