An audio track from a news report about the Gulf of Mexico BP oil disaster is being loaded and played when the latest report on the Israeli action against those 'humanitarian peace activists' is loaded via War News Update. This makes keeping fresh updates of WNU a problematic effort with all of the bandwidth being stolen by that unwanted report being downloaded in the unseen background.

Well, the audio playback has quit (at least there isn't anything audible). But, when opening WNU there is still a continual downloading of something in the background.
I think you have an unforeseen problem with whatever news service you used as a source for some news report.

Thanks D.E. for the input. I have been away since this afternoon, so if the problem occurred when I was gone I have unfortunately missed it.
At the moment, everything appears to be working OK. I use three different computers and an iMac that operate independently from each other .... and everyone is working normally.
However .... it appears that I do have something downloading in the background ... and it is called counters.gigya.com
I checked to find out what it is,and I found out that this is a tracking program. This is something that I definitely do not want on this blog, it slows down everything and is an annoyance for some with slow computers. Unfortunately .... I cannot find the source from where it is coming from. I will keep on looking, but I suspect that it will disappear by tomorrow.
Well, it's nearly noon on Tuesday and I'm seeing that same item from counters.gigya.com. It seems to refresh every couple of minutes. Also, intermittently there is another thing which seems to be some sort of player being accessed (player.ooyala.com or l.player.ooyala.com).

Still cannot find the source. I will spend the next few days looking at who is the !@%&?@#$! that is giving me this problem.
