An Angry Congress Lambasts BP Chief Hayward Over Safety -- Miami Harald

WASHINGTON -- Sitting alone at a table, BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward on Thursday bore the bipartisan brunt of a livid congressional panel seeking to affix corporate greed and corner-cutting aboard an oil rig as the cause of 11 deaths and the ruin of an ecosystem and a way of life in the Gulf of Mexico.

It didn't begin well for the 53-year-old chief executive of one of the world's largest and most profitable corporations, who was just minutes into his opening remarks when he was interrupted by a protester who held up black-painted hands and shouted: "You ought to be charged with a crime!"
