The killing of three British troops by an Afghan soldier is a blow to trust between the two armies.
This is, of course, just what the Taliban wants – though we still do not know whether they incited the shootings.
It is a scary business for British soldiers working alongside Afghans who carry loaded automatic weapons, if they are unsure they can be trusted.

My Comment: I suspect that the above incident will not help Nato - Afghan military relations .... but will it be lasting .... probably not. These units work very closely together, experiencing the trauma of battle and casualties against a common enemy. Will there be rogue elements .... of course .... but is this indicative of the Afghan military .... for the moment I will have to say no.
The problem is putting together a large and credible Afghan military .... but with a culture of tribalism, corruption, nepotism, and drug use .... such an endeavor will take generations to accomplish .... if ever.
