My Comment: This is probably the first step for a deeper and more active U.S. presence in the country. I would not be surprise if .... in a few months .... we start to hear stories of U.S. Special Forces fighting alongside Pakistani troops against Taliban extremists.
On a side note .... this type of involvement is also nothing new. US Special Forces were first involved in a raid against the Taliban on Pakistani soil in 2008 .... the reaction among the Pakistan government at the time was predictably hostile. Now .... these same special forces are working with the Pakistan military. Sigghhhh .... this escalation has the potential to explode very quickly .... and I am sure that the majority of Pakistanis will not approve and the U.S. public .... if they were more aware of it .... would also have doubts.
