Hamid Karzai Says Afghanistan Withdrawal Plans Have Boosted Taliban -- The Telegraph
Barack Obama’s announcement that American troops will begin pulling out of Afghanistan in July 2011 has boosted Taliban morale Hamid Karzai has said.
The Afghan president also said there would be no progress in the nine-year-long campaign while the Taliban still had safe havens in Pakistan.
Mr Karzai’s comments came amid ongoing debate about whether the July 2011 milestone outlined by Washington was feasible or had encouraged rebels to believe they could outlast the coalition.
