U.S. Domestic Spying Reaching Levels Not Seen Since The Cold War


Domestic Spying Rises to Cold War Levels -- Dark Government

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) released numerous reports of increased government spying on American citizens. Once upon an unhappy time, U.S. law enforcement agencies, from the FBI to local police, had a history of political spying during the Cold War. The ACLU said that the old political spying tendencies are running high again. Individuals and groups are being monitored and harassed for “little more than peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights.”

My comment: With technology making it very easy to conduct surveillance on individuals, coupled with living in a world where threats from international (and domestic) forces are always present .... we should not be surprised with this report from the ACLU.

If anything, I am surprised that the U.S. Government is not conducting domestic spying at a greater level.
