Britain Officials Will Not Meet With U.S. Lockerbie Investigators

So much for British hospitality.

The UK government denied a request from an American Senate committee to meet this week as part of the investigation into the release of the Lockerbie bomber, the Associated Press reported on Monday.

Abdelbasset al-Megrahi, convicted in 2003 of plotting the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over the Scottish town, was released to his native Libya in Aug. 2009 after a Scottish doctor testified that he had three months to live.

My Comment: I mentioned a few months ago that if Scotland refuses to release the Lockerbie's medical files, that will be the smoking gun that the decision to release the Libyan bomber was motivated more by politics and relations with Libya, than over the Locker Bomber's state of health. No surprise .... these medical reports are not going to be released.
