North Korean Delegates Meet To Appoint Kim Jong-il's Successor



Delegates Arrive For N. Korea Meeting -- New York Times

SEOUL, South Korea — Delegates to a rare gathering of the ruling Workers’ Party arrived in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, on Monday as the party began final preparations for a meeting that could mark the debut of Kim Jong-il’s youngest son as his designated successor.

Photographs from Pyongyang showed banners and posters announcing the conclave, and there has been heavy speculation in the South Korean news media about the possible anointing of Mr. Kim’s son, Kim Jong-un.
