Our Soldiers Are Fighting In Afghanistan For This?

The Sexually Abused Dancing Boys Of Afghanistan -- BBC

In Afghanistan women are not allowed to dance in public, but boys can be made to dance in women's clothing - and they are often sexually abused.

It's after midnight. I'm at a wedding party in a remote village in northern Afghanistan.

There is no sign of the bride or groom, or any women, only men. Some of them are armed, some of them are taking drugs.

My Comment: Throw in stories on how women are abused, child brides, honor killings, a culture of corruption, tribal warfare, drug lords, a drug dependent economy, and a society that has no toleration for other religions and cultures .... yup .... that is what our forces are fighting for .... and yes .... I will also add in the 100 Al Qaeda fighters that are in the country.

I think they also consider the possibility of a real domino effect.

If Afghanistan is lost it sends a very strong message ("yes, we can beat the U.S. - let´s take over another country") --> it would increase radical Islam efforts worldwide!

While the domino theory was not true with regards to communism, the problem and reason for this continuos effort is that the US understands the threat of radical islam, talbian, and Al Qaeda even less than they did (not) understand Communism back then -- and are afraid of the consequences of loosing this one or better said accepting the loss until something changes.
