World Hunger Rates Fall But Are Still Unacceptably High


UN's FAO: World Hunger Figure Falls For First Time In 15 Years -- Wall Street Journal

LONDON (Dow Jones)--World hunger estimates have fallen for the first time in 15 years but the recent rise in food prices could put development targets at risk, the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization said Tuesday.

The number of chronically undernourished people in the world fell to 925 million in 2010, down 9.6% from 1.023 billion in 2009 due to a pick up in the world economy and a fall in international food prices, the FAO said.
