Jerusalem Police Remain On Alert After Holiday Rioting -- Haaretz

Prayers on the Temple Mount end uneventfully; 16 Palestinians are arrested overnight on suspicion of having participated in Wednesday's riots.

Police Commander in Chief Dudi Cohen decided to keep police on high alert for the next few days to ensure security for hundreds of thousands of tourists expected to visit the city over the Sukkot holiday.

The police have been on high alert since Wednesday due to riots in East Jerusalem after a Housing Ministry guard shot and killed a Palestinian father of five.
