India, Russia To Sign Pact On Fighter Jets -- Wall Street Journal
NEW DELHI -- India will sign an agreement soon with Russia to acquire 250-300 fifth-generation stealth fighter jets that will be developed and manufactured jointly by the two countries, Indian Defense Minister A.K. Antony said Thursday.
The fighter jets will be produced by state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. in collaboration with Russia's Sukhoi Company, Antony said at a joint news conference with Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdyukov.
The deal value hasn't been finalized, Mr. Antony said. "But one thing is clear that all the roadblocks are over. Between India and Russia all issues are resolved."
