Southern Sudanese Leaving North -- UPI
KHARTOUM, Sudan, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Thousands of people from southern Sudan say they are leaving the northern part of the country ahead of a January referendum on southern independence.
The BBC reported thousands of people native to the southern part of the country, which is mostly made up of people following traditional religions and Christianity, are attempting to return from the primarily Muslim north before the January vote on possible southern independence.
