Palestinian Government Wants East Jerusalem Included In Israeli Settlement Freeze -- Xinhuanet

RAMALLAH, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian government Monday called for including East Jerusalem into any deal halting Israeli settlement building.

"Stopping all settlement activities completely and comprehensively in the occupied Palestinian land, with Jerusalem city and its surroundings at first, is the basis of a serious peace process," the government said in a written statement.

My Comment: Even with a gift of billions on the table for just a 90 day freeze .... this is not enough for the Israeli Government. This illustrates what is the main problem in the Middle East .... it is not about more guns and money, diplomatic assurances, or enhanced security .... it is all about land. Both sides regard land in the region as priceless, and both want it for themselves.
