Obama On Medal Of Honor Winner: 'I really Like This Guy' -- USA Today

President Obama said today he not only had the privilege of awarding the Medal of Honor to a living soldier, but he also gave it to a young man "as humble as he is heroic."

"Now, I'm going to go off-script here for a second and just say I really like this guy," Obama said at an East Room ceremony for Army Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta. "When you meet Sal and you meet his family, you are just absolutely convinced that this is what America is all about. And it just makes you proud."

Giunta suffered bullet wounds and risked his life to protect his comrades during an ambush in Afghanistan on Oct. 25, 2007.
