Gaddafi To Be Investigated For War Crimes

Libya: Gaddafi To be Investigated For Crimes Against Humanity -- The Telegraph

Col Gaddaffi and key aides will be investigated by the International Criminal Court over allegations they committed crimes against humanity while fending off the uprising in Libya.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the Hague's prosecutor said: "We have identified some individuals with de factor or formal authority, who have authority over the security forces.

"They are Muammar Gaddafi, his inner circle, including some of his sons."

He also listed individuals including the veteran Libyan leader's head of personal security, and head of external security forces, adding there would be "no impunity in Libya".

My Comment: Gaddaffi may not care what the International Criminal Court may do if they should choose to investigate (and possible prosecute him) for war crimes. But the ones who do care are his children. They love to travel and live abroad, and any impediment to such a lifestyle will not go over well with them or their own families.

I say prosecute them, and use them as a modern day symbol of what happens if war crimes are committed against civilian targets.

Update: A brief profile on his family can be found here.
