The 'Mad Max' Rebels: Libyan Fighters Zoom Across Desert In Battered Cars Loaded With Grenade Launchers -- The Daily Mail

Racing across the scorched earth in their battered cars, loaded with heavy artillery, these rebels are fighting for their lives in a lawless society.

It may sound like a scene from the film classic Mad Max but this is war-torn Libya - and the fighters are on the frontline of Ajdabiya in their struggle against Colonel Gaddafi.

One of them holds a powerful grenade launcher, while draped over the bonnet of the white car badly damaged by gunfire is the former Libyan national flag which has become a symbol of the rebellion.
