Obama Faces Choice on Petraeus -- Wall Street Journal
Afghanistan Commander Is a Contender, but Not a Shoo-In, for Joint Chiefs Job.
As President Barack Obama approaches a summer of decisions on Afghanistan, one of the trickiest will be whether to promote his battlefield commander, Gen. David Petraeus, to chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The decision on the new chairman will likely come in the next few months, at the same time Mr. Obama settles on how quickly to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, a process he has promised would begin by July.

My Comment: General Petraeus will be slotted into a top post when he leaves Afghanistan. What that post will be .... hmmmm .... I say Supreme Commander In Europe. Then again .... after fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for the past few years .... General Petraeus may decide to retire and just fade away.
