Britain To Send Military Advisers To Libyan Rebel Capital -- New York Post
BENGHAZI, Libya -- Britain said Tuesday it would send military advisers to the Libyan opposition capital of Benghazi, as Italy said it would host international talks on allowing rebel oil sales.
Britain said it would, "move quickly to expand [it's] team already in Benghazi … to include an additional military liaison team."
Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement that the contingent would include "experienced military officers" to advise the Transitional National Council (TNC) on military organization, communications and logistics.
Hague said that this would be in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 1973 aimed at protecting civilians.

Comment: The British Government is stating that these officers will only will be sent to help support Libya's opposition council, but will not train or arm rebels. Hmmmm .... how come I am very skeptical. The fact is that this is a major escalation for Britain to now become involved on one side in the Libyan civil war, and I will not be surprised if France will follow Britain in announcing these same deployments.
