Libya Rebels Say Winning Is Possible (With Help) -- CBS News

Even as battle appears at a stalemate, Libya rebel leaders insist better equipment and close air support can sway outcome.

BENGHAZI, Libya - The battle for control of the country has seesawed back and forth for weeks.

Rebels Monday took back most of Brega, a key oil town in the east. Opposition leaders insist they can break the stalemate with Muammar Qaddafi's forces but only if the U.S. and its allies provide more firepower.

My Comment: The Libyan rebel commanders may hope for allied intervention .... but for the U.S. .... as far as they are concerned .... they are stepping back.
