Stealth F-22 Raptor, Most Expensive Fighter Ever, Not Used in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan

More than five years and nearly $80 billion after the world's most expensive fighter jets joined the U.S. military fleet, the high-tech stealth F-22 Raptor has yet to see combat -- despite the U.S. Air Force's involvement in three simultaneous major combat operations.

When the U.S. led an international effort to secure a no-fly zone over Libya last month, the F-22, the jet the Air Force said "cannot be matched," was not involved. The Air Force said the $143 million-a-pop planes simply weren't necessary to take out Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi's air defenses.

I honestly don't see why. I love combat planes, and the F-22 freaking scares me to death. Who cares if it's not necessary? We need to use it in a live fire combat situation. We could regret this eventually if we have to take this thing into a full scale war without any prior combat testing.

Should we start a war with an adversary who can fight with this plane or just wait for them to come to us. I'm with wait.

hah, why the creation of this plane was so needed if US army afraid to loose just 1 a half billion dollar aircraft? also war can show is this plane invincible. or maybe they afraid of loosing the best plane in the world by old weapons?
