Liam Fox: British Army Will Be Cut Further After Afghanistan Mission -- The Telegraph
The British Army will face cuts in its resources as the mission in Afghanistan comes to an end, Liam Fox has said.
The Defence Secretary also warned of more cuts in the coming years, saying there is “still more to be done” to balance the Ministry of Defence budget.
Defending reductions in the Armed Forces, Dr Fox said that it was necessary to reduce the Government's deficit because “strong economy is a national security requirement.”
David Cameron this week confirmed that more than 400 British troops will leave Afghanistan, beginning the British withdrawal from the country.

My Comment: The British Empire died a long time ago .... this is just the final nail in the coffin.

ok this is a bit -random-, but judging just the roads, parks, and condition of public buildings, the UK is in splendid condition, if you compare it to the US.. I have never seen so f*cked up roads in a developed country as in Boston.. haha seriously.. the US have to get their roads fixed to be taken serious again :) having said that, yeah, the empire times are over, but at least the UK -looks- nicer/appears to be in better condition, has less crime and an overall more sophisticated/educated population than the US, at least it feels that way.. so it feels to me that even though the UK have a huge deficit, they can turn it around quicker again than the US, not just because they are a smaller country, economically speaking
No argument there. I live in Quebec, Canada .... and with the exception of Napa and Sonoma counties in California .... I would not want to live in the States. Hell .... the cold is preferable than living in the States. And yes .... I agree 100% .... England is in better shape than the U.S.
