Deaths Reported As Thousands Protest In Syria -- Al Jazeera

Protesters reportedly killed in the cities of Homs and Hama, as people across the country take to the streets.

Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets across Syria for another day of anti-government rallies, dubbed a "day of defiance".

Security forces opened fire to disperse protests that broke out after Friday prayers in Homs, killing five people and wounding several others, some seriously, activist Najati Tayara said. Al Jazeera could not immediately verify the report.
