Yemen's President Vows to Avoid Civil War -- Voice Of America

Under international pressure to resign, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh says he will not allow his country to be dragged into a civil war.

He commented on Wednesday, as deadly clashes between pro-government forces and loyalists to a powerful tribal chief continued for a third day in Sana'a. The tribal head is aligned with an opposition movement demanding Saleh leave office immediately,
