BAGHDAD, June 10 (UPI) -- Iraq is suffering from a breakdown in political partnerships, a leader from the Sunni-backed Iraqiya slate said amid reports of protests Friday.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was able to cobble together a coalition for the majority of seats needed to secure a second term in office early this year following a political stalemate that consumed much of 2010. However, he's been unable to fill top Cabinet positions.
