The civilian contractor and another American who was wounded in the blast were attacked in eastern Baghdad, the U.S. Embassy reports. Hours later, three bombs kill 33 and injure at least 82 others at a market in a Shiite neighborhood.

Reporting from Baghdad — A U.S civilian contractor was killed and another American wounded in a bomb attack in eastern Baghdad on Thursday, according to the U.S. Embassy.

Hours later, at least 33 people were killed when three bombs ripped a street market in a Shiite neighborhood in the capital.
