U.S. Troops Are Ready To Leave Iraq
Remaining U.S. troops are scheduled to withdraw by the end of this year.
Army Maj. Michael Rutherford, a San Diegan serving in Iraq with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, has one of the most important jobs in the war zone.
Every soldier stationed in Iraq is working, one way or another, to bring the last U.S. troops home after more than eight years at war in the Middle East. But as the American force heads for the exits, Rutherford is one of the few directly responsible for handing the keys to the last U.S. military bases to their new Iraqi landlords.

My Comment: My prediction .... this is what is going to happen, with probably a small contingent of U.S. special forces remaining behind (plus a lot of State and CIA personnel).
