Artillery Exchange Between North And South Korea



North, South Korea Exchange Fire Along Disputed Maritime Border -- Washington Post

TOKYO — South Korea’s defense ministry said that North Korea first fired three shots toward the so-called Northern Limit Line (NLL) border. One hour later, after sending a warning broadcast to the North, South Korean naval forces returned with three shots of their own.

At least one of the North’s shots, according to preliminary findings, landed in the area of the maritime line, a Joint Chiefs of Staff spokesman said.
