My Comment: When I saw President Bush land on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, and then strutted out .... sighhh .... I just rolled my eyes. What irked me the most on that day was not the speech .... it was rather simple and straight forward ....but just the optics of the entire event. It reeked of American arrogance and bravado .... further reinforced by that sign in the background. What would have been my choice .... something solemn and low-key .... like the Japanese surrender on the USS Missouri to end the Second World War. No bravado. No arrogance. No emotion.
