China may have been behind two cyber attacks on U.S. satellites, an explosive report to Congress has claimed.

The annual report, by the U.S.-China Economic Security and Review Commission, said that at least two environment-monitoring satellites were 'interfered with' four or more times in 2007 and 2008.

Without providing 'smoking gun' evidence that pointed directly to China, the report said the nature of the attacks were 'consistent' with known Chinese techniques of waging cyber attacks.
