Report Shows A Military And A Nation Disconnected -- Stars and Stripes
WASHINGTON — A new report on civilian ties to the military puts numbers to what top military leaders have been a lamenting for years: The American public is largely disconnected from its fighting force.
Not only has less than one half of one percent of the nation served at any given time during the last 10 years of war, but the burden is increasingly consolidated among families with a history of service, the Pew Research Center found.

My Comment: An all volunteer military fighting in wars that many of us do not have a connection to .... yup .... we have a disconnect and one that grows as our leaders realize that it is "bad politics" to always discuss these conflicts to the electorate.
