Wider Protests Urged in Egypt as Crackdown Enters Day 4 -- New York Times
CAIRO — A day after the cabinet offered its resignation to Egypt’s transitional military rulers, protesters fought running street battles with the police fourth straight day, braving an increasingly lethal crackdown recalling the earliest days of the Arab Spring.
As the confrontation entered a tense new day with the clashes unfolding nearby, thousands of people converged on Tahrir Square, the epicenter of Egyptian resistance — first to the former president, Hosni Mubarak, ousted in February and now to the military commanders who replaced him.
