Top Military Officers To Lose Their Servants -- The Telegraph

Senior military officers will have to do their own cooking, gardening and cleaning, after the Ministry of Defence said it will save £3 million by cutting back on servants.

Top-ranked generals, brigadiers, admirals and air marshals will now only get “domestic help” for cleaning up after official entertaining.

They also will only be able to claim for five hours of help per week, meaning officers and their families will have to do the bulk of their own domestic work or pay for extra help.

The 26 most senior officers will also lose the right to expensive “furniture, fixtures and fittings” currently paid for by the taxpayer.
