My Comment: What is my take on Russia's elections and yesterday's protests .... a few points. (1) As ballot box stuffing goes .... this was amateur hour for Putin's supporters. They did not even hide it, and what is worse .... in places like Chechnya they claimed 99% of the vote?!?!?! (2) The Communists did extremely well ... even with all of this ballot stuffing. This should make everyone concerned. (3) Putin's support comes from the elderly, pensioners, and the military. This support is still rock solid. (4) Yesterday's protestors were young to middle age, they are going to give grief to Putin for a long period of time, and will be using the internet and social media as their rallying point. (5) Putin will be walking on eggshells until next year's Presidential elections .... he now knows that stealing it will be very difficult, and on top of that there are no guarantees that he will be President next year.

As to what is the sentiment among my extended and large family in Russia on last week's elections .... my younger cousins hate Putin .... my aunts and uncles do not.
