Russian Spy Chief Resigns -- RIA Novosti

The chief of Russia’s military intelligence (GRU), Col. Gen. Alexander Shlyakhturov, resigned from his post on Saturday, the Kommersant business daily reported.

According to the newspaper, Shlyakhturov, 64, will in the near future head the board of directors of the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering (MIT), the developer of the Bulava ballistic missile and other strategic missile systems.

My Comment: His resignation is not a surprise .... President Medvedev is ending his term as President, and Putin's "crew" is coming in. What everyone is wondering is .... who will be replacing Col. Gen. Alexander Shlyakhturov to head the GRU in 2012.
