Stratfor: Hackers Breach Intelligence Think Tank's Website

The hacking movement Anonymous says it will mine the client list for credit card numbers and use them to make charitable donations.

The loose-knit hacking movement Anonymous claimed Sunday to have stolen thousands of credit card numbers and other personal information belonging to clients of security think tank Stratfor.

One hacker said the goal was to pilfer funds from individuals' accounts to give away as Christmas donations, and some victims confirmed that there had been unauthorized transactions linked to their credit cards.

My Comment: I am a paid member of Stratfor .... but (fortunately) when it comes to all of my purchases online, I always use a prepaid credit card (no personal or credit info there). Is this attack disturbing .... yes .... because I suspect that Stratfor`s client list is a who's who of people in the military/intelligence/defense community, and most of them probably do not use the same precautions that I use.
