Saudi Prince Warns Of Middle East Nuclear Arms Race -- Arabian Business

An influential member of Saudi Arabia’s royal family has warned that the Middle East risks entering an arms race if it fails to declare the region a nuclear weapon-free zone.

Prince Turki Al Faisal, Saudi Arabia’s former ambassador to the US, has called for the Middle East’s five permanent UN Security Council members to develop a nuclear security umbrella for regional nations and impose “military sanctions” against those seen to be developing atomic weapons.

: His concerns are justified. It is assumed that Israel has nuclear weapons. Iran is working on their program. Libya gave up their program a few years ago. Syria's program was bombed by Israel a few years. Yup .... the intentions of many governments in the region are clear .... they want nuclear weapons. As for Saudi Arabia .... I cannot help but feel that Prince Turki al-Faisal is laying the groundwork and justification for their own program.
