Is It Wise To Depend On The French For Military Equipment?

As the 30th anniversary of the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands approaches the Prime Minister has revealed that contingency plans have been drawn up to combat any threat to the Islands in the coming months.

Head of the Armed Forces General Sir David Richards has assured Mr Cameron that Britain will be able to defend The Falklands despite continual cuts to troop numbers including the controversial decision to leave Britain without an Aircraft Carrier to defend her overseas territories.

My Comment: The French are famous for saying "NON" when you need them. The problem with sharing is that you may find yourself in a situation in which you may not want to share. For example .... will the French be willing to entangle themselves in the wars and conflicts that the British may find themselves in .... are the British willing to entangle themselves in the wars and conflicts that the French may get themselves involved in .... hmmmm .... I don't think so.
