My Comment: Jack Goldsmith has an optimistic viewpoint on American politics and war policy. Here is my cynical prediction .... if President Obama is defeated and replaced by a Republican later this year, support for American counter-terrorism policies will revert to what it was before President Obama was elected in 2008 (i.e. strongly critical) .... followed by constant anti-war demonstrations, critical media reports, non-stop criticisms from pundits, and Congressional/Senate Democrats voicing opposition and disgust with US counter-terrorism policy and it's use of special ops and drone strikes.
