Syria Activists: Up To 100 Die In 24 Hours As Assad's Tanks Roll Into Homs -- The Telegraph

Up to 100 people have died in less than 24 hours as Bashar al Assad's tanks rolled in to Homs today, Syrian activists have said.

Among the dead were three entire families, including at least three children; and 18 premature babies who died when the power to their hospital was cut, according to unconfirmed reports from activists and the BBC.

Pleading for help from the outside world, Syrian activists said they were in desperate need of food and medical aid.

Troops fired rockets and mortars while tanks entered the Inshaat neighbourhood and moved closer to Bab Amro, the district hardest hit by bombardments that have killed nearly 200 people in the last two days, activists in the city and opposition sources said.
