Fury Grows Over Afghan Killings -- At War/New York Times
Afghan anger grew on Monday, a day after the massacre of at least 16 civilians, nine of them children, in a rural stretch of southern Afghanistan, allegedly by a veteran Army staff sergeant. Over at The Lede blog, our colleague Robert Mackey picked up on videos posted by one of the local Afghan news agencies, Pajhwok Afghan News. The videos show distressing, graphic images of the dead.

My Comment: While Afghan anger will fester, the big impact will actually be in the U.S.. The American public has given up on Afghanistan, and with this strong anti-war sentiment I will not be surprised to see a growing number of politicians pushing for a quicker exit from Afghanistan as the U.S. election season heats up.
Update: It appears that President Obama has also thrown in the towel on Afghanistan.
