North Korean Leader Takes a Defiant Stance as He Visits Border -- New York Times
SEOUL, South Korea — The North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, visited the heavily armed border with the South and ordered his troops on higher alert, the North’s state-run media said Sunday, escalating the militaristic rhetoric just a week after Pyongyang agreed to freeze its nuclear efforts in return for badly need food aid.
Mr. Kim, who took power after the death of his father, Kim Jong-il, in December, has frequently visited front-line military units. But his trip to Panmunjon, a compound straddling the border where the armistice was signed in 1953, was the first time he put himself in full view — and within the range — of South Korean border guards. It was seen as an effort to demonstrate his audacity to his people.

My Comment: Not to take any chances during his visit, North Korean Kim Jong-un made sure that his military forces were on high alert.
