With a formal dinner for the few, President Barack Obama on Wednesday paid solemn tribute to the many.
The president, who opposed the Iraq war from its outset, thanked those who fought its battles by sitting down to a candlelit meal with a small cross section of the million-plus who served there over the past nine years.
Though the mood was reflective, the First Lady was caught looking rather grumpy at several points throughout the night.

My Comment: If this White House dinner involved her rock star friends instead of Iraqi vets and their families ....would she be frowning like this .... probably not. Hell .... I would probably be acting the same way. But I can guarantee you one thing .... for this administration this will be the last White House dinner for war veterans.

The Daily Mail does this quite often, and it is rather idiotic to judge from photos alone.
True .... but she has a long history of making her views and altitudes known, and hob-nobbling with Iraqi war vets has certainly not been on the top of her priority list. Then again .... in all fairness .... most Americans do not follow the many wars and conflicts that America finds itself in, and when confronted with Iraqi war vets, after the pleasantries they would rather be somewhere else.

Thank you Fred for your comments. Obviously you are not familiar with my postings on President Bush .... I was far more rougher on him than I have ever been on President Obama. But having said that .... I am not an American. My views come from being someone whose nationality is Russian, lived for many of my adult years in Asia, and now resides (very happily) in Quebec, Canada. And while these views may be perceived by some as "anti--Obama" .... it is not. I am just stating what many outside the U.S. perceive and believe is the U.S. of today.
