U.S. And Mexico Meet On How To Combat The Drug Cartels


VP Joe Biden Meets With Mexican President Calderon About Drug Cartels -- Houston Chronicle

Confronting cartel violence and combating drug smuggling along the Southwest border will top the list of security concerns that Vice President Joe Biden will discuss today in Mexico City with President Felipe Calderon and three presidential candidates.

Biden will meet with Calderon before traveling on to Honduras to meet with Central American leaders during a two-day trip, White House officials said.

My Comment: President Calderon is right about stopping the money flow .... it is the money that makes Mexico's drug cartels very effective and hence .... very dangerous. But will the U.S. respond .... hmmm .... my bet is that they will not for the simple reason that millions of Mexicans are dependent on receiving monies from their relatives in the U.S. for help. In an election year .... I can vouch that this administration will do nothing that will alienate these voters.
