Pakistan Wants A $2.6 Billion Reimbursement From The United States
U.S. and Pakistani officials are discussing billions of dollars in reimbursements to Pakistan for its role in the U.S.-led war on militants.
Pakistani Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh alluded to the discussions in remarks at the Brookings Institution in Washington on Wednesday.
“Given the current state of our dialogue with the U.S., I don’t want to get into opening a new controversy about what I think are the numbers and what somebody else thinks are the numbers,” Mr. Shaikh said. “We have had a good discussion, and I think that issue is hopefully going to get resolved in some positive way.”

Update: Repair U.S. Ties With Pakistan Before They’re Irreparable -- Bloomberg editorial
My Comment: They are not going to get $2.6 billion .... not even anything close to that amount. Bottom line .... the U.S. has always known that most Pakistanis have a very strong anti-U.S. mindset .... as well as knowing that most Pakistanis have always favored Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda over the U.S. and the West. But in public the US always ignored these sentiments because of Pak cooperation in the war against terror.
But this all changed when Bin laden was found on Pakistani soil, made worst when Pakistan decided to not follow through in investigating on who kept him safe in Pakistan. Talk about breaking the camel's back .... but that has been the problem with Pakistan .... they have always consistently misread U.S. intentions on the war on terror and U.S. determination in stopping radical extremists like Bin Laden. And while both sides will continue to meet and discuss mutual interests .... U.S. trust of Pakistani intentions is gone .... and I predict will not be remedied for a very very long time.
