House Votes To Replace Pentagon Cuts Mandated By Debt Deal -- The HillThe House voted Thursday to override steep cuts to the Pentagon’s budget mandated by last summer's debt deal and replace them with spending reductions to food stamps and other mandatory social programs.

My Comment: The GOP plan is not going to fly. US Senate Majority leader Reid has made it very clear that (absent any agreement) he wants defense cuts, and President Obama is threatening a veto.
