Heavy Fighting Reported Between Yemeni Forces And Al Qaeda Militants


Yemen Town Jaar 'Deserted' By al-Qaeda, Retaken By Army -- BBC

A town in Yemen has been retaken by the country's army, amid claims militants withdrew during the night.

Official sources in Yemen said the southern town of Jaar was taken from al-Qaeda after heavy fighting.

However, local witnesses said militants in the town fled in the night with weapons and furniture towards Shuqra, according to the AFP news agency.
