Black Sea Fleet Ships Ready To Go To Syrian Coast – General Staff -- ITAR-TASS

MOSCOW, June 15 (Itar-Tass) —— A number of warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are prepared to go to Syria, the Russian General Staff told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“The Mediterranean Sea is a zone of the Black Sea Fleet responsibility. Hence, warships may go there in the case it is necessary to protect the Russian logistics base in Tartous, Syria,” it said.

My Comment: Talk about escalating the conflict as well as giving a blunt message to the region on who Russia is supporting in the Syrian civil war.

On a side note, this also tells me that from the Russian government's point of view, Assad is now losing the war. After-all .... if he was winning .... the Russian government would not be focused on conducting these naval/military maneuvers nor publicly stating that they would veto any UN resolutions against the Syrian regime.
